Before it finally got better, life was crazy with three young children under the ages of 7 to care for, with no extra energy to care for myself.⁣⁣

I mean who has the time and energy to navigate all of this and on top of it all take care of themselves?⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So I would ask my husband to take over with the kids as soon as he would notice I was starting to lose it. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
But all that did was create tension in our marriage because most times he wouldn’t even notice things were getting out of hand.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Until one day, I decided it had to stop!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
The major problem holding me back was I didn’t realize at the time that my yelling was triggered by the organ responsible for my mental wellbeing, that is my brain.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Such a relief! I wasn’t going crazy after all! All I had to do was learn how to feed my brain the right foods and make healthier lifestyle choices. I quickly learned that when your brain works right, you work right! You are more successful in everything you do, in your relationships, at work, at school, and you can make better decisions!⁣⁣⁣

So I started with eating whole foods, rather than processed foods, which helped balance my blood sugar.⁣⁣⁣

And after only a couple of weeks, I finally started seeing a real difference in my overall wellbeing, mental clarity and ability to remain calm when things got a little crazy.⁣⁣⁣

If you want to know what a balanced breakfast looks like that will feed your brain all the nutrients it needs to work for you, take a look at what I had this morning 🙂.

Overnight oats, filled with fiber
topped with wild blueberries filled with antioxidants and fiber,
and coconut rich in healthy fats
graded apple rich in fiber
pecans rich in protein and healthy fats
and finally, spinach quiche, filled with protein, healthy fats, and fiber!

You always want to be combining those healthy fats with protein and loads of fiber to make sure you are feeding your brain what it needs, but also balancing your blood sugar at the same time 😉.
